At the January 11 Golden Globes awards ceremony, Hailee Steinfeld experienced a standout moment when Adam Sandler acknowledged her work, creating a memorable highlight at the event. The actress and singer shared this experience in her Beau Society newsletter, reflecting on how the encounter slowed down an otherwise fast-paced evening.
Evening of Connections and Style
Steinfeld described the night as an opportunity to dress elegantly and reconnect with people she hadn’t seen in years. She wrote that she
“got to put on a gorgeous Prada dress to spend a night out with my new plus one and reconnect with friends I haven’t seen in years.”
Among the reunions was a chance meeting with Jennifer Lawrence, but it was the encounter with Adam Sandler that stood out most to Steinfeld. She explained Sandler’s presence deeply resonated with her household, saying,
“For context, Adam Sandler is a permanent fixture in our house. We always have one of his movies on (the other night it was Just Go With It).”
She also noted,
“He even inspired our Halloween costumes a few years ago.”
In a previous newsletter entry from October 2025, Steinfeld shared photos of Halloween costumes she and her husband, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, wore, dressing as characters Bobby Boucher and Vicki Vallencourt from Sandler’s 1998 film The Waterboy. The costumes were inspired by Sandler and Fairuza Balk’s roles in the movie.
Meeting Adam Sandler at the Globes
Steinfeld recounted how Sandler caught her attention near the entrance of the Golden Globes and praised her work. She wrote,
“So when Adam Sandler waved me down by the entrance to the Globes, and said, ‘Hey, buddy! I loved Sinners! You’re doing amazing. And congrats to Josh!’ I could not wait to tell my husband.”
The couple had made their relationship public on Instagram in July 2024 and married in May 2025. In December, Steinfeld and Allen announced they are expecting their first child.
A Year Filled with Personal Milestones
Steinfeld shared a video in her newsletter that month, showing her posing in the snow with her pregnant belly, while Allen kissed her stomach. She wore a fleece with the word mother, and the two held hands in front of a snowman. This video was also posted on their joint Instagram account, where Allen commented, I love you ❤️.
This interaction with Sandler became another cherished memory within a night already marked by personal significance for Steinfeld.
