The acting categories highlight several notable names such as Dave Bautista (In the Lost Lands), Jared Leto (Tron: Ares), Ariana DeBose (Love Hurts), Natalie Portman (Fountain of Youth), Rebel Wilson (Bride Hard), Nicolas Cage (Gunslingers), and Sylvester Stallone (Alarum).
The Backlash Behind Rachel Zegler’s Snow White
Snow White emerged as one of the most significant box-office disappointments of 2025, grossing only $200 million worldwide against a $410 million production and promotion budget. This underperformance made it Disney’s worst-performing wide-release live-action remake in nearly a decade.

The film was met with largely negative critical reviews. The Post’s film critic Johnny Oleksinski rated it two stars, referring to it as
“another boring, mediocre live-action Disney retread.”
Compounding the film’s challenges were controversies surrounding its lead, Rachel Zegler, 24. Before the film’s release, Zegler faced backlash for describing the original 1937 Disney movie as “dated,” emphasizing problematic elements such as Prince Charming’s behavior.
“The original cartoon came out in 1937 and very evidently so,”
she said.
“There’s a big focus on her love story with the guy who literally stalks her. Weird, weird.”

Her comments sparked debate, while a separate controversy arose after Zegler posted anti-Donald Trump remarks on social media, provoking Disney fans to threaten boycotting Snow White unless she was replaced.
There were also reports of tensions between Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, 40, reportedly due to differing views on the Israel–Palestine conflict involving Gaza.
Mental Health Challenges During the Film’s Fallout
Rachel Zegler later shed light on the emotional toll that the backlash took on her during an interview with i-D magazine in June. She revealed that therapy and anxiety medication were critical to helping her cope with the pressure and criticism.
“My f–king psychiatrist has seen me through all of it,”
she revealed, confirming she had taken anxiety medication which was “truly a game changer” because she “just wasn’t functioning.”
“I think a victim mindset is a choice, and I don’t choose it,”
Zegler added.
“I also don’t choose nastiness in the face of it. I don’t choose negativity in the face of it.”
