Richard Gere has joined the cast of Apple TV’s limited series The Off Weeks, which stars and is executive produced by Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller. The eight-episode drama, directed by Michael Showalter and developed by showrunner Alissa Nutting, explores complex themes around relationships and custody.

Plot Overview and Gere’s Role

The Off Weeks centers on Gus Adler (Stiller), a writing professor whose life unravels following a divorce. While he struggles to maintain stability during his “on weeks” when he cares for his children, his “off weeks” become complicated by a deepening romance with Stella West (Chastain), a mysterious woman whose presence threatens to upend both his parental obligations and personal ambitions. Richard Gere joins the cast as Jonathan, adding to an ensemble that includes Arian Moayed and Annaleigh Ashford.
