Djimon Hounsou Hit with Protective Order Amid Abuse Claims

Djimon Hounsou is currently subject to a protective order following accusations from Ri’za Marie Simpson, his baby mama, who claims she has been abused. These developments emerged after an incident earlier this month, leading to legal action in an ongoing dispute involving allegations of abuse and conflict at their shared residence.

Details of Abuse Allegations and Court’s Temporary Order

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Ri’za Marie Simpson stated that she was wrongfully arrested and accused Djimon of financial abuse as well as an attempted illegal eviction. She alleges that in December, Djimon slammed a vehicle door on her left side, shouted insults, and screamed directly at her. Additionally, an October encounter is described where Djimon confronted Ri’za in front of their children, yelling and standing nose-to-nose in a tense confrontation.

The judge granted a temporary protective order preventing Djimon Hounsou from contacting Ri’za or the children and requiring him to maintain a distance of 200 yards from them until an upcoming hearing scheduled for early February.

Conflicting Accounts of Violence and Police Involvement

Djimon Hounsou reported to police that Ri’za struck him in the face with a closed fist during an attempt to remove her from a property he owns. Subsequently, police arrested Ri’za for simple assault and obstruction, citing allegations that she provided false information during the investigation.

Last week, Ri’za released an audio recording capturing part of the dispute leading to the incident. In the recording, she repeatedly demands her keys back, insisting Djimon has no right to evict her and threatens to involve law enforcement if denied access. Ri’za alleges that after the recording ended, Djimon closed a car door on her.

Impact and Next Steps in the Legal Case

This protective order and the serious accusations from both parties underscore the heightened tensions in their shared personal dispute. The restrictions on Djimon will remain in effect until the hearing in February, where further evidence and testimony will shape the direction of the case. Representatives for Djimon Hounsou have not responded to requests for comment regarding the protective order and the allegations.
