At the world premiere of Wuthering Heights on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, Margot Robbie captured attention with a striking new hairstyle, departing from her usual soft waves. This distinctive sculpted updo, now being called the Margot Robbie Brontë Bun, was created to complement the film’s literary roots and the actress’s refined look on the red carpet.
The transformation was achieved by stylist Bryce Scarlett, known for working with high-profile clients such as Mia Goth, Charli XCX, and Hailey Bieber. Scarlett incorporated Schwarzkopf Professional products throughout the styling process, starting with the BlondMe Bondfinity Deep Repair Oil applied to the lower half of Robbie’s muddy blond hair. This product serves to
“extend the hair’s integrity between color services,”
explained Jacob Schwartz, Schwarzkopf Professional U.S. Hair Color Trend Ambassador, who also crafted Robbie’s signature blond color for Barbie.
To add texture and movement, Scarlett used a one-and-one-quarter-inch curling iron on sections of the hair and secured each curl with clips. The roots were treated with Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Dust It to provide grip and body. A boar-bristle brush was then used to gently break apart the curls, especially around the crown and sides, enhancing the volume required for the final look.

For the distinctive bun, Scarlett gathered the hair into two ponytails positioned just above the nape of the neck, tucking the ends under and pinning them in place. The style was sealed and lifted with Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe Bond Repair Sealing Balm, Precision Lightener, and OSiS+ Freeze Hairspray, creating a sculptural and long-lasting finish.
Margot Robbie’s entire aesthetic for the premiere was expertly tied together by a custom gown from Schiaparelli. Designed by Daniel Roseberry, creative director of the French fashion house, the dress featured a dramatic layered black and red velvet skirt that cascaded to the floor, pairing with a nude bodice overlaid with black chantilly lace. This ensemble beautifully underscored the old-world charm evoked by the film and the Brontë Bun.
Her makeup, styled by Pati Dubroff, maintained a light, natural feel, carefully avoiding excessive product except for accentuating the cheeks. The subtle shadowing beneath her eyes and soft blushed lips complemented the hairstyle and gown without overpowering them.
Experts in celebrity styling suggest that the Brontë Bun fits well with emerging trends on the red carpet this awards season. Igor Rosales Jackson noted that “sleek, structured updos” with
“clean silhouettes, strong shapes and very intentional styling”
are gaining popularity. This observation positions the Margot Robbie Brontë Bun as a potential future staple in formal hair fashion.
Overall, this new hairstyle marks a significant shift for Robbie, highlighting her versatility and ability to reinvent her look for major events while reflecting the period drama’s mood. The collaboration between Scarlett, Schwartz, and Robbie showcases how thoughtful styling choices can create memorable, trend-setting moments on the red carpet, likely inspiring others in the industry to adopt similarly refined, sculpted designs.
