Chris Pratt’s Prime Video series, The Terminal List, which debuted on July 1, 2022, is set to return for a second season in late 2026. The show follows Pratt’s character, Lieutenant Commander James Reece, who seeks vengeance against those responsible for the deaths of his family and Alpha Team. After a successful first season and completed filming for the follow-up, Pratt recently confirmed the anticipated release timeframe during a podcast appearance.
Chris Pratt Announces Late 2026 Release for New Season
During a conversation on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with host Josh Horowitz, Chris Pratt confirmed that The Terminal List Season 2 is expected to premiere toward the end of 2026. He revealed progress on the second season’s production, noting that out of eight episodes planned, six have already been completed. Pratt stated,
“We’re done with season two. Yeah, we’re in post right now. We’ve locked six of eight episodes.”
This update solidifies expectations for fans eagerly awaiting the continuation of the action-packed thriller on Prime Video.
New Cast Members Joining the Series
Season 2 will introduce several new faces alongside Pratt, expanding the story’s scope. Gabriel Luna, known for his work in The Last of Us, will portray Freddy Strain, while Luke Hemsworth joins as Jules Landry. Both actors are confirmed additions, although details on their roles remain forthcoming. Meanwhile, the participation of notable Season 1 stars such as Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch, and Riley Keough has yet to be officially confirmed.

The first season uncovered a complex conspiracy involving Reece and his elite team. Pratt’s character exposed the scheme behind their near-fatal ambush, which included a deadly drug. The biggest shock in Season 1 was learning that Reece’s former ally, Ben Edwards—in fact the CIA source behind the attack—had betrayed the team for a $20 million payoff. Edwards rationalized that he wanted the soldiers to die in combat rather than survive wounded, but denied involvement in the murder of Reece’s family.
Season 1’s Dramatic Ending and Season 2’s Implications
After exacting revenge by killing Edwards, James Reece is labeled a terrorist in the United States and forced to flee. He escapes using Edwards’ boat to travel to Mozambique, a North African nation that holds significance as the setting for Jack Carr’s subsequent novel in the series, True Believer. This escape sets the stage for Season 2 to potentially explore new territories and deepen the narrative.
In addition to the main show, The Terminal List universe is expanding with a prequel titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. This series features actors such as Taylor Kitsch, Tom Hopper, Luke Hemsworth, and Robert Wisdom, adding depth to the storyline and available now on Prime Video.
Looking Ahead for Fans of The Terminal List
The confirmation from Chris Pratt about the 2026 release window offers both closure and anticipation for viewers invested in the story of James Reece. With new characters entering the fray and unresolved plot lines from the first season, the upcoming episodes promise to maintain the show’s tense and introspective tone. The integration of elements from Jack Carr’s novels suggests that Season 2 could expand the narrative across continents while continuing to explore themes of betrayal, survival, and vengeance.
