Jamie Lee Curtis: ICE Used to Distract from Epstein Files

Jamie Lee Curtis has voiced strong criticism of the Donald Trump administration’s expanded ICE presence on Minnesota streets, arguing it serves as a distraction from newly released files about Jeffrey Epstein. Curtis made these remarks while supporting the non-profit organization Project Angel Food, emphasizing growing concerns about both the treatment of citizens and the Epstein investigation.

Condemning ICE’s Actions and Administration’s Approach

Sharing her perspective on the current state of affairs, Curtis expressed deep shock and dismay at the government’s conduct, stating,

“Every day I think I’m not going to be shocked anymore and then I’m shocked.”

She further denounced the administration’s actions as cruel and unacceptable, saying,

“It’s just inhuman. It is inhuman the way this administration is treating its citizens, its constituents, and people in need. It’s an abhorrence what they’re doing. The ICE situation is out of control.”

Linking ICE Activity to Epstein File Distraction

Curtis highlighted the Department of Justice’s recent release of over three million documents revealing connections to the late paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. She suggested the heightened ICE activity serves to divert public attention from these disclosures, claiming,

“It’s simply a distraction so that we don’t pay attention to the Epstein files.”

Past Criticism of Trump’s Behavior and Public Reactions to ICE

Jamie Lee Curtis has previously spoken out against Donald Trump’s conduct, notably after a video surfaced showing him calling a female reporter a “piggy.” Reflecting on that moment, Curtis remarked,

“I think that unhinged moment of his abuse and vile behaviour is going to be his undoing.”

Other public figures have also raised concerns about ICE operations, particularly in Minneapolis. During the Grammy Awards, Billie Eilish addressed the issue in her acceptance speech for ‘Song of the Year,’ stating,

“No one is illegal on stolen land.”

Her comments sparked backlash from South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, who labeled Eilish as “ill-informed,” and from Elon Musk, who called her “such a hypocrite” on social media platform X.

Musical Protests Against ICE and Recent Tragedies

Musicians including Bruce Springsteen, Billy Bragg, and Dropkick Murphys have used their platforms to oppose ICE policies by releasing protest songs. These efforts aim to raise funds for anti-ICE charities and honor the memories of Rennee Good and Alex Pretti, two American citizens who recently died following interactions with ICE agents.
