Chris Hemsworth has expressed that he now feels he has truly earned his place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe after reprising the role of Thor in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. The 42-year-old actor will reunite with Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers in this highly anticipated action sci-fi film, directed by the Russo brothers, set to premiere on December 18.

A Seasoned Thor Embracing His Legacy

In a recent interview, Hemsworth shared his evolving connection to the character of Thor, describing how the God of Thunder has grown into a more experienced and mature figure. He noted that the portrayal now reflects the character’s long history as Odin’s son.

“He’s 2,000 years old or something, so we tried to play into that more than we had before,”

Hemsworth explained.

Feeling a Greater Sense of Authority Among Fellow Avengers

The Marvel star recalled feeling like a newcomer during his early appearances but believes his role has since been solidified. Regarding his standing among new cast members on Avengers: Doomsday, Hemsworth said,

“In the more recent films since then, I felt like the character had earned his seat at the table. Before that, I felt like the new guy.”
