Stanley Tucci’s Masterplan: A Thrilling International Heist Story

A standout project likely to attract significant attention is the France-Italy co-production Masterplan, directed by Thomas Vincent of Reacher fame. The film stars Stanley Tucci as a disorganized father who hatches a plan to reunite with his estranged children by involving them in stealing the Mona Lisa. Acting alongside Tucci are Simona Tabasco, known for The White Lotus, and Victor Belmondo from Lie With Me. Tucci shared in a video message his enthusiasm for the role, drawn by the “incredibly funny and weird” script.

I thought it was one of the best characters I’ve ever read and I was thrilled to be asked to play it, it’s an actor’s dream,

Tucci said.

The international cast are great, Victor is a wonderful actor, Simona is wonderful and Thomas is an accomplished director, and the locations are stunning and has everything you could want.

International Success Drives Prime Video’s Content Expansion

Prime Video’s investment in international originals is clearly paying off, with strong global reception pushing many of these series and films into top viewership rankings. Notably, the top ten non-English language international originals so far this year include Mercedes Ron’s Culpa Nuestra holding the number one spot, followed by German series Maxton Hall, the German films The Tank and The Calendar Killer, and the Indian series The Family Man in its third season.

Prime Video is where international storytelling is thriving,

Kelly Day remarked in her introduction.

What we’re seeing now is that audiences all over the world are finding content from lots of other countries that they really enjoy watching.

Clemens also emphasized the global opportunity for Amazon’s platform.

There is so much opportunity to bring local stories, characters, and outstanding talent to global audiences, and we’re all already seeing huge success for both Prime Video, and the amazing talent.

What This Means for Global Streaming Audiences

Prime Video’s broad slate, spanning multiple continents and languages, reinforces the increasing demand for culturally rich and varied storytelling in the streaming era. The inclusion of high-profile projects like the Stanley Tucci Masterplan movie underscores the platform’s commitment to pairing established talent with unique international narratives. As Prime Video continues to invest across regions, global audiences can anticipate more stories that bridge local authenticity with worldwide appeal, expanding options for viewers eager to explore diverse genres and cultures.
