Davina McCall and her husband Michael Douglas enjoyed a heartfelt evening together at the Cabaret event held at The Kit Kat Club on Thursday, showcasing their affectionate bond during the night out. The Michael Douglas date night marked a joyful occasion for the couple, highlighting their close relationship less than a year after their wedding.
Couple’s Style Choices Reflect Their Unique Personalities
Davina, aged 58, complemented her look with a double-breasted woollen coat layered over sheer tights and black leather-heeled boots, which added a chic touch to her outfit. Her husband Michael, 49, stood out with his eccentric ensemble featuring a black and white polka dot shirt teamed with a striped cardigan and bright green socks, emphasizing his playful sense of style.
Notable Faces at the Cabaret Event
The event also attracted notable personalities, including Shane Richie, 61, famous for his role as Alfie Moon in EastEnders, who appeared dressed comfortably in a grey jumper, black trousers, and matching grey shoes. Stephen Libby, 32, the recent winner of the show Traitors, arrived confidently wearing a distinctive grey suit paired with a white vest top.
Bear Grylls, 51, chose a straightforward yet practical look with a simple jacket, trousers, and trainers, moving away from his usual adventure gear. Presenter Hayley Palmer, 44, wore a sparkly, low-cut dress paired with silver strappy heels that caught the eye, while Sugababes singer Heidi Range, 42, opted for a sophisticated red velvet jumpsuit complemented by a black clutch.

Davina’s Journey Through Health Challenges and Recovery
The joyful appearance of Davina at the event comes shortly after she completed treatment for breast cancer, a diagnosis she disclosed to her followers last year. Detecting the illness early through a lump she noticed herself led to a successful lumpectomy, an operation that helped in managing the disease promptly.
Last month, Davina announced the completion of her preventative radiotherapy, expressing a deeply emotional response to ending the treatment. Speaking in a video posted to Instagram, she said,
“I finished my radiotherapy today, and it was very, very emotional.”

She further shared,
“Much more emotional than I thought it would be. And I need a bit of positivity and brilliance, so I’m going to go and watch Julia Bradbury on Begin Again.”

Shifts in Life Priorities Influenced by Significant Health Events
Davina has revealed that her breast cancer diagnosis prompted her to step back from a demanding full-time career to seek a healthier life balance. This decision followed a period marked by two major health scares: a rare brain tumour removed earlier in 2024, and the subsequent breast cancer diagnosis.
Reflecting on these experiences during an interview on the Miss Me? podcast, Davina emphasized how these challenges led her to reevaluate her lifestyle. She explained that while dealing with the brain tumour initially encouraged her to reduce stress, it was the breast cancer diagnosis that truly forced her to change.
“I had an amazing breakthrough when I got clean in the early nineties,”
she said, referencing her recovery from heroin and alcohol addiction.
“I had another huge breakthrough after I had my brain tumour removed. I realised that I needed to de-stress my life.”
“Interestingly, I realised that – but then the breast cancer, which I thought was a very, very frightening thing, made me realise that I really, really had to put that into place. And I have now.”

Adopting a Balanced Lifestyle and Prioritizing Self-Care
Davina, who married her hairdresser Michael in December, said she plans to work a four-day week to maintain better balance and improved wellbeing. She shared,
“I feel so much better now about my life and trying to get it more balanced.”
She described her current focus as a personal project centered on self-care, recognizing that she must be well herself to care for others.
“So now, really, as I hit this stage of my life, I want to take more care of myself. That is my latest project: me, because I can’t take care of anyone else if I’m not okay.”

Early Diagnosis and Remarkable Recovery Stories
The discovery of Davina’s brain tumour, measuring 14mm, came during a health scan related to her advocacy for menopause awareness. Following an extensive six-hour surgical procedure, she spent several days in intensive care and made what doctors described as an exceptional recovery.
Her experiences underline the importance of early detection and proactive health management, which have contributed to her ability to resume public appearances and enjoy meaningful moments such as her night out with Michael Douglas.
