Jeff Bridges Lists Malibu Land Lost in Palisades Fire Sale

Actor Jeff Bridges and his siblings, including his brother Beau Bridges and their sister, have placed their family’s Malibu property on the market. The property, originally inherited from their parents, Lloyd and Dorothy Bridges, was located on La Costa Beach but was destroyed during the Palisades Fire.

In July 2024, the home on this parcel, which featured four bedrooms and four bathrooms across two stories, was listed for $9.2 million. On January 7, 2025, the day the Palisades Fire began, the asking price was lowered to $8.85 million. Since the fire reduced the site to cleared land, the current asking price has dropped to $4.37 million from an initial $4.95 million.

Jeff Bridges, aged 76 and known for iconic roles such as “The Dude” in The Big Lebowski and his Oscar-winning work in Crazy Heart, now resides full-time in Santa Barbara. He is among several celebrities who were affected by the Palisades Fire, which also impacted homes belonging to Ricki Lake, Mel Gibson, and Paris Hilton.

The property’s sale highlights the ongoing effects of the Palisades Fire on Malibu’s real estate and the challenges faced by longtime residents trying to recover from these losses. The lowered price and shift from a family home to vacant land reflect the impact of the disaster, signaling uncertain prospects for rebuilding or resale in the area.
