Topher Grace Reveals Glen Powell Hasn’t Changed Despite Fame

Topher Grace has expressed surprise at how Glen Powell has remained grounded despite rising to Hollywood stardom. Powell, now a widely recognized A-list actor, has achieved remarkable success in recent years. However, Grace emphasizes that Powell’s personality has stayed consistent through his rapid career growth. Their enduring friendship dates back many years, though they are only now appearing together on screen in the upcoming A24 film How to Make a Killing.

Grace Reflects on Meeting Powell and Their Bond

Grace shared that he and Powell first connected in 2009 through a mutual friend and have maintained their friendship since then. Despite being in the same industry for over a decade, they had not acted together until this new project. Grace recalled,

“I’ve known Glen for a long time,”

and added,

“I’ve known him for years. Yeah, we’ve never acted together — up until now.”

He mentioned that with children of his own, many acquaintances from those early days have faded, but Powell was someone he wanted to check in on as his career surged.

Admiration for Powell’s Unchanging Character Amid Success

Grace expressed admiration for how Powell has handled fame gracefully, describing it as rare in Hollywood. He said,

“I remember thinking, ‘Okay, let’s go over there and see if Glen is the same,’ because he was really blowing up at that moment, and he was exactly the same human.”

Grace continued,

“All my time in Hollywood, I’ve never seen someone handle it so well and just be the same guy,”

highlighting Powell’s genuine nature despite his rapid rise. He also praised Powell’s abilities as an actor, stating,

“The thing that ties it all together is Glen. He’s a great leading man.”

Upcoming Film Featuring Grace and Powell and Its Anticipated Release

Their first joint film, How to Make a Killing, draws inspiration from the classic Kind Hearts and Coronets and is scheduled for release in the United States on February 20, 2026. Alongside Grace and Powell, the cast includes Margaret Qualley, Jessica Henwick, Bill Camp, Zach Woods, and Ed Harris. This project marks a significant milestone for both actors, especially in highlighting Powell’s continued momentum and stability in a challenging industry.
