Actor Robert Downey Jr. has been officially named the godparent of the Disney Adventure, the newest and largest vessel in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, capable of accommodating 6,700 passengers. The 208,000-gross-ton ship, the first of Disney’s Global class, is scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage from Singapore on March 10, marking a significant expansion of Disney’s maritime presence.

The Disney Adventure will operate short cruises lasting three to four nights in the South China Sea region. Before arriving in Asia, it made a stop at Port Canaveral and traversed the Panama Canal during its journey. This vessel represents Disney’s eighth ship in operation, as the cruise line continues to grow with plans to add five more ships by 2031, boosting the fleet size to 13.

Future expansions include a fourth ship in the Wish class expected next year and a new class of ships debuting in 2029. That same year, Disney aims to introduce cruises to the Japanese market, further extending its global outreach.
