Nick Offerman Joins Megan Mullally in New Iceboy Musical

Emmy Award-winning actor Nick Offerman, best known for his role in Parks and Recreation, will return to his hometown this summer to star alongside his wife, fellow Emmy winner Megan Mullally, in the new musical Iceboy! Or The Completely Untrue Story of How Eugene O’Neill Came to Write The Iceman Cometh. The production features music by Mark Hollmann, lyrics by Hollmann and Jay Reiss, with the book written by Erin Quinn Purcell and Reiss. Marc Bruni serves as director of the show.

Performance Details and Schedule Changes

Iceboy! is scheduled to run from June 20 through July 26, with its official opening night set for June 29 at the Albert Theatre, which seats 856 people. The production dates have been revised since the initial announcement to better accommodate scheduling needs.

Plot Highlights and Character Overview

The musical centers on Vera Vimm, portrayed by Mullally, a leading Broadway star in 1938. When she unexpectedly adopts a 40,000-year-old Neanderthal found frozen in the Arctic, the creature quickly gains theatrical fame. This event captivates Eugene O’Neill, played by Offerman, who is known as the father of American drama, and introduces tension with his formidable mother as the spotlight shifts.
