“I’ve been asked that quite a lot recently, I actually feel the opposite, I actually feel a load of gratitude. Immense gratitude.”

“To the fans, for making the show what it was. The little show on BBC2 on some evenings and then gradually and incrementally became a global phenomenon. That was down to the fans.”
He acknowledged the creative team’s contributions, saying,
“To these amazing actors. To Tom Harper, we worked together way back on the first series, and Steve Knight particularly.”
On Steven Knight’s role, Murphy remarked,
“To have that level of writing for that length of time you know, it’s a once in a lifetime freak occurrence to meet a writer at the top of his game like that.”

“So I’m just full of gratitude, so just watch the f****** film now.”
