Christa Miller, known for her role as Jordan Sullivan on the popular sitcom Scrubs, has revealed an exciting update about the upcoming finale of the show’s revival on ABC. Speaking recently on The Daily Show, Miller described filming the season ten finale as an enjoyable experience, highlighting her deep connection to the character and the series.
Differences Between Network TV and Streaming Productions
Miller reflected on her unique experience working on both network television and streaming platforms, emphasizing the contrasting formats. Referring to her work on the streaming series Shrinking, she explained,
“You have to remember, with Shrinking, you got no commercials, and we can go over a half hour,”
illustrating the flexibility streaming allows. In contrast, she pointed out the tighter constraints on Scrubs, which, as a network show, has a strict 21-minute runtime:
“You go in [on Scrubs], and it’s 21 minutes, that show. It’s on network [TV], so to go in with the pace and to play with everyone, and also I know that character so well…we had a blast.”
The Daily Show Host Reflects on Personal Connection to Scrubs
The Daily Show host, Lydic, who interviewed Miller about the revival, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming season and shared her own history with Scrubs. Having appeared briefly as an extra, Lydic said,
“I can’t wait to watch. I’m so excited. I have to tell you, I have a personal connection with Scrubs.”
She recalled earning her SAG card through extra work on the show, revealing,
“I got my SAG card from doing extra work, and one of the shows I did extra work on was Scrubs.”
Lydic also shared a humorous anecdote about her minor role, explaining,
“At one point, I played a featured extra named ‘Nurse Buttaface.’ I don’t want to brag. I was Nurse Buttaface. They were very classy about it and didn’t show my face.”
Legacy of Scrubs and Miller’s Role in the Series
Scrubs originally ran for nine seasons with a total of 182 episodes, and Christa Miller appeared in nearly half of those, cementing her as a key figure in the show’s success. With the revival now underway, fans are eager to see how the story of Jordan Sullivan and the ensemble cast will continue to unfold in this new chapter.
