Karl Urban, known for his role as Commander Siberius Vaako in The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), has indicated he remains open to reprising the part in the anticipated Vin Diesel Riddick Return. Speaking at Emerald City Comic-Con, Urban was unaware of the rumored fourth installment but expressed willingness to return if the timing, script, and opportunity were right.
You know what, if it was the right opportunity, and the right script, and the right timing, I’d love to go back and play with those guys. I had a lot of fun working with Vin [Diesel] and [director] Dave Twohey, and it’s a fun universe to work in, so you know, I’m always down.

Background and Status of the Riddick Franchise
The Riddick saga, starring Vin Diesel as the titular antihero, began with Pitch Black in 2000. Urban’s introduction as Vaako came with the 2004 sequel The Chronicles of Riddick, and he reappeared with less screen time in the third film, Riddick, released in 2013. Diesel has been teasing a fourth installment titled Riddick: Furya, with director Dave Twohy set to return behind the camera. Though production is said to have started in 2024, no official release date has been confirmed.
Our legion fans have demanded it for years, and now we’re finally ready to honor their call-to-action with Riddick: Furya,
Twohy shared in 2023.
My collaboration with Vin and One Race has spanned 20 fruitful years, as together we’ve created three movies, two video games, an anime production, and motion comics for the internet. This new big-screen event will see a return to Riddick’s home world, where we finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis.
