The alternative rock band Dogstar, featuring actor Keanu Reeves on bass, has reunited and announced the release of their new album All in Now. This marks their second studio album since reforming in 2023 after a break of two decades. The album is scheduled for release on May 29, followed by a U.S. summer tour supporting their return to the music scene.
Band Reformation and Recent Activities
Alongside Keanu Reeves, drummer Robert Mailhouse and guitarist and vocalist Bret Domrose came back together in 2023 to perform live for the first time since 2002. Shortly after, they released Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, their first album since 2000’s Happy Ending. Reeves balanced his music with acting commitments in 2025, including projects with directors Ruben Ostlund and Jonah Hill, as well as making his Broadway debut alongside former Bill & Ted co-star Alex Winter in Waiting for Godot.
Creative Process and Producer Collaboration
Eager to work in the studio, Reeves and Dogstar teamed up with producer Nick Launay to complete their new album. Reeves expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We couldn’t fucking wait.” He added,
“Personally, I loved it all. For me, the attitude was like, ‘let’s work hard and let’s GO.’”
Drummer Robert Mailhouse shared that the album captures the energetic and fun spirit the band has always cherished, saying,
“The album really sets up the energy at the heart of this album and the fun that we’ve always had playing together.”
Upcoming Tour Dates and Album Promotion
To celebrate the release of All in Now, Dogstar will perform two shows in California before heading to Europe for a tour. They plan to begin their North American tour leg on August 1 in Austin, Texas, which will continue through September 3. This tour marks a significant milestone in the band’s comeback, reconnecting with fans across multiple continents.
