New Poker Trading Cards: Collect Poker Legends!

New Poker Trading Cards: Are you a poker fan looking to collect some awesome trading cards featuring famous players like Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu? Well, get ready because there’s exciting news! Leaf and Poker Royalty have just announced a deal to make a new set of trading cards, and it’s the first one in more than ten years!

Imagine having your favourite poker stars on cool trading cards, just like you collect sports cards. Dan Weinman, one of the poker champs, couldn’t believe it when he said, “I used to collect sports cards when I was a kid, just like you. And now, I’m going to have my very own trading card! It’s crazy, and I’m super excited about it. I remember seeing those poker cards with Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, and Tom Dwan years ago. Now, Leaf is bringing back the idea with new players, and someone out there will find my signed card!”

In this new set, there will be a total of 40 cards to collect. That’s a lot of cool cards to add to your collection!

Leaf employee Josh Pankow said they last did this with poker cards a while ago. He remarked, “We decided to work again after eleven years. Even better, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, and Dan Weinman have committed to help with this endeavor. These cards will feature several famous poker players from different eras, including the newest ones that everyone is excited about”.

This is actually the fifth time Leaf is making poker cards. The world of collecting cards has become really popular again, especially during the pandemic. Just last year, a super rare baseball card from 1952 sold for a whopping $12.6 million!

But here’s something even cooler – people are now collecting cards on social media. They watch live streams where someone opens card packs, and this is called “breaking.” You can buy a spot to watch, and the person who’s selling the cards opens them live online for everyone to see.

Now, will poker cards become as popular as they used to be? We’ll have to wait and see, but poker has become really exciting in recent years with big tournaments both online and in real life.

And here’s a fun fact: besides the three players we mentioned, Poker Royalty also represents other big poker stars like Phil Ivey, Antonio Esfandiari, Scotty Nguyen, Patrik Antonius, and David Williams. They even represented the late Doyle Brunson. So, we’ll see more of these poker pros on trading cards soon.

But Leaf isn’t the only company making poker cards. Back in 2009, they made a card featuring Chris Ferguson, who won the 2000 WSOP main event. You can actually find one of those on eBay for about five bucks!

And there are more poker pros who’ve had their own cards. Chris Moneymaker, Joe Hachem, Carlos Mortensen, and Greg Raymer have had their faces on cards. An autographed Chris Moneymaker card goes for about $80!

In 2017, the WSOP main event champ, Scott Blumstein, got his own card from Topps. He was really excited about it and said, “I used to sell and collect cards when I was your age. So being part of this is really special. It’s like being in the same card pack as my favorite baseball players.”

And finally, two high-stakes poker players, Jared Bleznick and Tom Marchese, also love collecting sports cards. They even co-own a store in Las Vegas called Legacy. So, you see, poker and card collecting go hand in hand!

Look at these beautiful cards if you like to play poker or collect cards. One day, maybe your picture will be on a card.
