Kia South Korean Plant Halts: Operations at Kia Corp’s assembly plant in South Korea have come to a halt due to disruptions in parts supplies, the company confirmed on Wednesday.
The disruption originated from a tragic incident at Poongki Industrial Co Ltd, a key Kia supplier responsible for chassis parts production. Regrettably, this incident resulted in the loss of a worker’s life on Tuesday, prompting Poongki to cease its own operations. This, in turn, caused significant supply disruptions at Kia’s manufacturing plant, as explained by a Kia spokesperson.
Authorities are actively investigating the accident, leading to the suspension of forklift truck operations at Poongki’s factory, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the lobar ministry. However, Poongki has not yet provided any comments on the matter.
