Alia Bhatt’s family backs Rhea, slams ‘witch hunt’ in Sushant case, seeks accountability for past injustices

Alia Bhatt’s mother, Soni Razdan, has voiced strong support for Rhea Chakraborty, condemning the ‘modern-day witch hunt’ against her after receiving a clean chit in the investigation related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic 2020 death. Rhea Chakraborty and her brother, Showik Chakraborty, were exonerated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), finding no foul play in Rajput’s death, now classified as a ‘simple case of suicide.’

The case, marked by intense scrutiny, saw Rhea and her family face severe backlash. In 2020, amidst the swirling controversy, Rhea and Showik were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) due to a drug-related case linked to Sushant’s death. This led Soni Razdan to call for a nationwide apology for the unjust treatment Rhea endured, sharing her thoughts on Instagram. “Should have decided this BEFORE they put the poor girl in jail and tried to destroy a reputation. This was nothing but a modern-day witch hunt. Question is… where is the accountability? Who pays?” Razdan expressed.

Celebrities like Pooja Bhatt, Dia Mirza, and Fatima Sana Shaikh have also stepped forward to support Rhea, advocating against the baseless accusations and media frenzy that surrounded the case.

Rhea’s legal counsel, Satish Maneshinde, highlighted the struggles faced by Rhea and her family during the investigation. Despite no evidence of wrongdoing, Rhea spent 27 days in jail before being granted bail. Maneshinde commended Rhea and her family for their resilience amidst the ‘inhuman treatment’ they faced, revealing they reached out to him through connections from his Sainik School days.

Maneshinde detailed the hardships his legal team and Rhea’s family faced, including relentless threats and harassment, but emphasized their steadfast commitment to justice. He voiced strong opposition to the sensational media coverage, criticizing false narratives spread widely on social media, exacerbated by increased screen time during the lockdown.

The outcome of this investigation has sparked discussions on accountability, media responsibility, and justice in high-profile cases, marking a pivotal moment for those advocating for Rhea Chakraborty’s innocence. The question of who will be held accountable for the injustices faced by Rhea remains, igniting conversations about the ethical obligations of media and legal systems in such situations. As the storyline unwinds, Alia Bhatt’s family, along with Rhea’s supporters, continue to seek clarity and justice, resonating a significant message about standing firm on truth in the face of adversity.
