Renowned actor Anupam Kher has been awarded the Late Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award. This prestigious accolade will be presented during a star-studded ceremony at the NSCI Dome, Mumbai, on April 25, as announced by Minister of Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar. The award, accompanied by a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, recognizes Kher’s immense contributions to the film industry, underscoring his impactful career.
The announcement was made during a press briefing at Mantralaya, where several notable awards were disclosed by the Department of Cultural Affairs. Among these, the Chitrapati V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award will honor Mahesh Manjrekar, while the Chitrapati V Shantaram Special Contribution Award goes to Mukta Barve. Both awards highlight significant contributions to Indian cinema, with Manjrekar and Barve receiving Rs 10 lakh and Rs 6 lakh, respectively.
Anupam Kher, celebrated for his versatile acting skills across various genres, expressed gratitude upon hearing news of the award. His career, spanning decades, has inspired many within the industry.
