He grew up in Sherman Oaks and Northridge, in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, alongside his younger siblings Nora Beth Grazer and actor and director Gavin Grazer. His father was Catholic and his mother is Jewish, and his parents divorced while he was in high school.

In April 2014, he became engaged to Veronica Smiley, chief marketing officer of SBE, and they married on February 20, 2016. Grazer resides in Santa Monica, California, and also maintains a home on Sunset Beach in Hawaii.
