He was raised in Springfield alongside his siblings, including his fraternal twin brother, Jason; an older brother, John Jr., known as Chip; and two older sisters, Mia and Susan.

As a child, Chambers aspired to become a dentist, a goal that shifted dramatically when his life took an unexpected turn toward the arts. He and his twin brother, Jason, attended Southeastern High School in South Charleston, Ohio, where the two were frequently hospitalized as children due to persistent bouts of pneumonia. These early years in Ohio shaped his grounded outlook before his later move to New York City to pursue performance training.

Path to Acting

After completing high school, Chambers relocated to New York, where he studied acting for four years at HB Studio and Ron Stetson Studios. The family has adopted two rescue dogs and owns a beagle.

Outside of acting, Chambers is involved with the Pentecostal Christian mission Dream Center of Los Angeles. In late January 2008, he publicly shared that he had been treated at UCLA Medical Center for exhaustion tied to a sleep disorder, an experience that followed a period of severely limited rest. Chambers also practices hot yoga as part of his personal wellness routine.
