Jesse Iwuji attended Hebron High School in Texas, where he was a letterman twice in football and three times in track. As a two-star football recruit, he played linebacker in high school and was named first-team all-district in his senior year. During his junior year, Iwuji was contacted by the Naval Academy and offered a scholarship. In addition to continuing his football career, he attended the Naval Academy Preparatory School before enrolling at the United States Naval Academy on June 30, 2005.
