Arthur Juan Brown, widely known as A.J. Brown, is an American professional football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels, earning first-team All-SEC honors twice, and was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft. After three productive seasons in Tennessee, Brown was traded to Philadelphia in 2022, where he has since extended his Pro Bowl selections to three and earned three second-team All-Pro nods. Early Life and Background
Arthur Juan Brown was born on June 30, 1997, in Starkville, Mississippi, USA. He attended Starkville High School, where he starred in both football and baseball. As a senior, he recorded 83 receptions for 1,371 yards and 13 touchdowns, leading his team to a 6A state championship. He was recognized as first-team All-State by USA Today, named to The Clarion-Ledger’s Dandy Dozen, and honored by the Mississippi Association of Coaches.
Brown was a consensus four-star recruit and a top-100 national prospect, ranking as the No. 5 wide receiver in the country by 247Sports and Scout. He was the second player, after Kyler Murray, to appear in both the Under Armour All-America Football Game and the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game. Path to Professional Football
After high school, Brown was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 19th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft. Brown was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the second round, 51st overall, of the 2019 NFL draft, the fourth of 29 receivers taken and 13 picks ahead of his Ole Miss teammate DK Metcalf. On June 12, 2019, he signed a four-year deal worth $5,641,199 with a signing bonus of $2,122,690. He made his NFL debut in the Titans’ 43–13 opening-day road victory over the Cleveland Browns, catching three passes for 100 yards.
