    Early Life and Background

Austin Deculus was born on March 12, 1999, in Mamou, Louisiana. He later moved to Cypress, Texas, a suburb of Houston, where he spent most of his childhood and teenage years. Growing up in Texas, one of the most football-rich states in the country, gave him early and constant exposure to the sport at every level.

He attended Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, Texas, where he played along the offensive line and quickly drew attention from college recruiters. His combination of size, footwork, and physicality led ESPN to rank him as the No. 5 offensive tackle prospect nationally coming out of high school. That kind of recognition helped set the stage for his future collegiate career at the Division I level.

    Path to American Football

Deculus’s path to American Football at the highest level began during his high school years, where his performances on the offensive line caught the attention of several major college programs. His recruitment eventually led him to Louisiana State University, one of the most storied programs in the sport. He signed with the LSU Tigers and enrolled in 2017.

At LSU, Deculus was surrounded by a roster that would soon compete for national championships. He developed under experienced coaching, learned the physical and mental demands of SEC football, and steadily earned playing time. By the time he finished his college career, he had started dozens of games at both tackle positions, laying a clear path toward professional football.
