The 2020 minor league season was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, keeping Selby off the mound for the year. He returned to High-A Greensboro in 2021, this time working primarily out of the bullpen. He began 2023 with Indianapolis and served as the Indians’ primary closer, recording a 3.86 ERA with 6 saves in 28 appearances before earning his first major league call-up. 2025 Season Performance

Selby began the 2025 season with the Triple-A Norfolk Tides, the Baltimore Orioles’ top affiliate. After his brief but effective late-season stint with Baltimore in 2024, the organization kept him in the minors to open the year while he continued to refine his work out of the bullpen.

His role with Norfolk gave him the chance to log regular innings and stay ready as a potential call-up option for the Orioles’ major league bullpen. As the 2025 season unfolds, Selby remains a depth piece within the Orioles’ system, with the chance to return to the major leagues depending on team needs. His mix of minor league success and prior MLB appearances gives Baltimore a familiar option should bullpen help be required later in the year.
