Erik Donald Stanley Gudbranson (born January 7, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected third overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2010 NHL entry draft. Standing 196 cm tall and weighing 100 kg, Gudbranson is known for his physical, stay-at-home style on the back end.

Erik Donald Stanley Gudbranson was born on January 7, 1992, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He grew up in the Ottawa area and developed his game playing minor hockey for the Gloucester Rangers AA rep teams in the ODHA. He later moved to AAA Minor Midget, skating for the Ottawa Jr. 67’s of the OEMHL.
