Jalen Marquis Brunson is an American professional basketball player for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on August 31, 1996, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Brunson starred at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois, where he became one of the most decorated recruits in the country. He went on to win two NCAA championships at Villanova and was named the Naismith College Player of the Year in 2018.
Selected 33rd overall by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2018 NBA Draft, Brunson spent his first four professional seasons in Dallas before signing a four-year deal with the New York Knicks in 2022. The Dallas Mavericks selected Brunson with the 33rd overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, making him the fourth and final Villanova player taken that year.
