Shai Buium (born March 26, 2003) is an Israeli-American professional ice hockey defenseman. He plays for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League (AHL) and is a prospect for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Buium came up through the United States Hockey League before playing college ice hockey at the University of Denver, where he won two national championships in three seasons. After his junior year he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Detroit Red Wings and began his professional career with their AHL affiliate.
