Charles Michael Thompson (born January 24, 1951) is an American politician serving as the United States Representative for California’s 4th congressional district. A member of the Democratic Party, he has held the seat since 1999, representing a district that includes parts of the northern San Francisco Bay Area and the North Coast. Thompson is also recognized as a Vietnam War veteran and Purple Heart recipient who served in the United States Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade.

Charles Michael Thompson was born on January 24, 1951, in St. Helena, California. He is the son of Charles Edward Thompson and Beverly Ann Thompson, née Forni.
