Chris Pratt, known for his role in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, recently addressed speculation about him joining the DC Universe, specifically regarding the James Gunn Batman casting rumors. Despite fan chatter linking Pratt to the role of Batman, the actor revealed in a recent interview that no plans are in motion for him to take on a DC character, confirming that a transition from Marvel to Gotham is not forthcoming.
During his conversation on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, Pratt discussed his potential involvement in future projects under Gunn’s leadership at DC Studios, which he co-runs with Peter Safran. While Pratt expressed an eagerness to collaborate with James Gunn again, he admitted uncertainty about which DC role, if any, he might portray.
“You know, we’d like to talk about that [and] other things as well, but yeah… I’ve always try to lead with mystery because I think it would be amazing to be able to do it. But if I’m being honest, no, I don’t think so. I think there’s some that I think I could play, and he probably feels the same way. But it’s, you know, there’s nothing. I’d like to be mysterious and lead people on a little bit. But in all honesty, I don’t know what that character would be. I would like to work with him again, though.”

Pratt’s Attempt at Playing Batman Met with Gunn’s Humorous Rejection
When asked directly whether he was considering the role of Batman in the upcoming film The Brave and the Bold, Pratt shared that he had taken a humorous approach to pitching the idea. He sent James Gunn a photoshopped image of himself wearing the Batman mask, hoping to test the waters.
However, Gunn’s response was far from encouraging, indicating that Pratt’s hopes of becoming the Dark Knight are slim.
“I sent a picture of myself with a Batman mask on. It’s a little aggressive to James [Gunn]. I did it in Photoshop, and he just said ‘ha ha.’ It’s safe to say, I’m not going to be Batman.”
