Jack Quaid’s Boimler Characters Missing From Starfleet Wall

Jack Quaid’s two characters from Star Trek: Lower Decks, Brad Boimler and his transporter clone William Boimler, are notably absent from the Wall of Heroes at Starfleet Academy. Despite having significant Starfleet careers, neither Boimler has been recognized on this tribute that honors Starfleet’s legacy and its most celebrated figures.

The Wall of Heroes at Starfleet Academy celebrates a thousand years of Starfleet history, featuring names and ranks of legendary characters from the Star Trek universe. This includes well-known figures like Captain James T. Kirk, Admiral Kathryn Janeway, and Ambassador Spock, along with less prominent characters and even contributors behind the scenes who shaped Star Trek.

Absence of Jack Quaid’s Brad and William Boimler on the Wall

Jack Quaid voiced both Bradward Boimler and William Boimler in Star Trek: Lower Decks, yet neither appears on the Wall of Heroes. At the conclusion of Lower Decks, Brad Boimler held the rank of Lieutenant and served as co-First Officer aboard the USS Cerritos, advancing toward his ambition of becoming a starship Captain.

In contrast, William Boimler, the transporter clone, had already achieved the rank of Captain. After faking his death and leaving the USS Titan, he joined Section 31. By the fifth season of Lower Decks, Captain William Boimler commanded the Defiant Class starship Anaximander, exploring the multiverse with a crew of Starfleet legends from alternate realities.

Both Boimlers have accomplishments that would merit recognition on the Wall of Heroes. Brad Boimler’s trajectory suggests he might have attained the ranks of Captain or even Admiral, while William Boimler’s leadership and groundbreaking missions through parallel universes represent significant achievements within Starfleet’s history.

Jack Quaid himself has become an established actor, with recent roles in major films like Scream (2022), Oppenheimer, Novocaine, and Companion, marking him as a notable figure in entertainment beyond his Star Trek work.

Other Notable Omissions From Starfleet Academy’s Wall

Brad and William Boimler are part of a group of characters whose absence from the Wall of Heroes has raised eyebrows among fans and observers. Despite the Wall’s extensive list, several prominent Star Trek figures remain unlisted.

Characters such as Commander Beckett Mariner (also voiced by Jack Quaid’s Lower Decks co-lead Tawny Newsome), Captain Carol Freeman, Admiral Alonzo Freeman, and Captain D’Vana Tendi do appear on the Wall. However, characters like Lieutenant Samanthan Rutherford, Lieutenant Shax, and Captain Jack Ransom are missing, alongside the Boimlers.

Further omissions extend beyond Lower Decks. Lieutenant Commander Una Chin-Riley from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is not present on the Wall, nor are Lieutenant Malcolm Reed and Dr. Phlox from Star Trek: Enterprise, or Lieutenant Ezri Dax from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

While it is unlikely for every Star Trek character to be included on the Wall of Heroes, some absences stand out, especially considering the prominence of characters like Brad and William Boimler. These gaps may reflect storytelling choices or future opportunities for canon expansion.

Importance of the Wall of Heroes in Starfleet’s Legacy

The Wall of Heroes symbolizes Starfleet’s enduring history and honors individuals—both fictional and real—who have contributed to the Star Trek universe’s rich narrative. It serves as a bridge connecting many generations of Starfleet characters, honoring their ranks and achievements across a thousand years of exploration.

The absence of Jack Quaid’s Boimlers suggests there are still stories left to unfold or recognition to be granted within Star Trek’s expanding lore. Their eventual inclusion might reveal more about their futures or provide new dimensions to the Starfleet legacy.
