Jennifer Lawrence recently opened up about her new happy place during a conversation at the 92NY Kaufmann Concert Hall on January 7. The 35-year-old actress and producer discussed her latest horror comedy, Die My Love, and how certain roles help her find calm amid intense scenes.
Finding Comfort in Challenging Roles
Lawrence, who starred as Grace alongside Robert Pattinson in the 2025 film Die My Love, shared that portraying emotionally heavy characters actually helps her relax. When asked by host Josh Horowitz if she had a “Kardashian tent” on this project—a nod to the quiet space she created during Mother! in 2017—Lawrence explained how her approach differed this time.
I didn’t have a ‘Kardashian tent’ on this one,
Lawrence said, further describing,
My baby died in that movie, and I had never done something that dark, like to imagine feeling something that dark, so I had this tent.
She added that the tent also doubled as a peaceful spot among the chaos of a large set.
I mean, I would have a tent anyway because there were, like, hundreds of extras. So, just in between for me to go sit and eat in peace.
The actress fondly recalled how her previous “Kardashian tent” included watching episodes of the reality show and enjoying gumballs, creating a joyful escape during demanding filming days.
But I had Kardashians playing on the laptop and gumballs and it just kind of turned into a happy place,
she noted.
New Sources of Joy in Unexpected Places
When Horowitz inquired about her current favorite source of relaxation, Lawrence revealed a different reality series that has become her go-to.
Probably Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. I think that’s just perfection, and the way it ended. Yeah, it would probably be that,
she explained, highlighting how this show now serves as her renewed happy place.
