Rachel Zegler & Ben Platt Bring ‘The Last Five Years’ to NYC

Ben Platt and Rachel Zegler will headline concert performances of Jason Robert Brown’s musical The Last Five Years this April, with shows scheduled at New York’s Radio City Music Hall and Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl. These U.S. concerts celebrate the 25th anniversary of the musical and feature Brown himself directing and conducting.

Upcoming Performance Dates and Locations

The musicians announced three U.S. dates through Instagram, with the Hollywood Bowl performance set for April 3 and two shows at Radio City Music Hall planned for April 6 and 7. These concerts follow an already announced run from March 24 to 29 at the London Palladium in England. Tickets for the U.S. shows will be available starting February 6.

Ben Platt’s Return to Radio City Music Hall

The Radio City performances mark a notable return for Ben Platt to the venue where he previously held a 2019 concert that later became the Netflix film Ben Platt Live from Radio City Music Hall. This engagement continues Platt’s ongoing connection to prestigious performance spaces in major U.S. cities.

Background of The Last Five Years

The musical explores the five-year relationship between novelist Jamie and actress Cathy through a non-linear narrative. It premiered in Chicago in 2001 and opened Off Broadway in 2002, going on to numerous regional and international productions. The show’s most recent Broadway run in 2025 featured Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren, with Warren receiving praise while Jonas and director Whitney White’s contributions drew more mixed reviews. A 2014 film adaptation directed by Richard LaGravenese starred Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan.

Profiles of the Lead Performers

Ben Platt’s Broadway resume includes acclaimed shows such as Dear Evan Hansen, Parade, and The Book of Mormon, along with his 2017 solo concert at the Palace Theatre. Rachel Zegler made her Broadway debut in 2024 as Juliet in Romeo + Juliet alongside Kit Connor and appeared in the 2025 West End revival of Evita. She is also known for her starring role in Steven Spielberg’s 2021 film adaptation of West Side Story.
