Kevin Costner and Guy Fieri recently discussed their mutual dedication to supporting veterans and first responders during an interview with Fox News Digital. Their conversation took place at the Fanatics party held ahead of Super Bowl LX, where both expressed a deep passion for honoring those who serve the country.
During the interview, Fieri acknowledged Costner’s impactful work, emphasizing the importance of giving back to those who protect the nation. This collaboration highlights a shared goal of recognizing and aiding veterans and first responders through various initiatives.
Guy Fieri’s Foundation Focuses on Serving First Responders
Guy Fieri, well-known for his TV show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, is actively involved in efforts to support veterans and first responders through his foundation. He described his group’s mission as “serving those who serve us,” providing food and aid during times of crisis.
I heard you do this amazing program down in Santa Barbara for veterans and first responders, and I’ve heard a bunch of my buddies talk about that you and I are supposed to collaborate,
Fieri told Costner.
He further praised Costner as the real deal for his dedication, stating,
want[s] to help out because we gotta celebrate all the people that keep this country free.

Fieri explained that when disasters strike, his foundation feeds first responders; when there are no emergencies, they visit veterans’ homes and military bases across the country to honor those who have served.
So we go around, when there’s a disaster, all we do is feed first responders,
he said.
And then, when we don’t have disasters, we just go around the country and just recognize all the first responders and veterans. Go to veterans’ homes, go to military bases, and so forth. So I’ve heard about your program that you do down in Santa Barbara. I would love to do it.
Kevin Costner’s Role with One805 Non-Profit
Kevin Costner serves as an executive board member of One805, a nonprofit organization established after the wildfires and mudslides devastated Santa Barbara County in 2018. The group’s mission is to enhance the readiness, safety, and resilience of first responders in the region.
Costner has been a prominent supporter, hosting One805’s major fundraising event, One805LIVE!, at his oceanfront estate in Summerland over several years. His involvement has helped to raise awareness and gather resources to assist local emergency personnel.
I get way too much credit for doing way too little,
Costner told Fieri, adding,
But yeah, we kind of highlighted those men and women.
Fieri responded, Freedom ain’t free.
The Importance of Honoring Veterans and First Responders
Guy Fieri has often spoken about the urgent need to pay more attention to military personnel, veterans, and first responders. He stressed that society does not do enough to recognize their sacrifices and contributions.
We should be celebrating our veterans and our active military and our first responders every single day in this country,
Fieri said during the interview. He called these individuals “unsung heroes” whose efforts deserve constant appreciation.
This viewpoint reflects a broader concern that the public and policymakers must increase support for those who risk their lives to protect communities and maintain national security.
Potential Collaboration and Future Impact
The dialogue between Costner and Fieri suggests potential collaboration between their organizations to expand outreach efforts benefiting veterans and first responders. Their combined influence could amplify awareness and resources in this critical area.
As both continue their philanthropic engagement, their work is likely to inspire further initiatives and encourage others to contribute to honoring the men and women who serve the country, underlining the ongoing need to support these communities beyond single events or holidays.
