“I came here a few hours after the fire passed through this area,”
he recounted in a video with Architectural Digest published on February 11. He described seeing their studio engulfed in flames and the garage already destroyed by the blaze.
Though the house was not completely lost, the fire consumed much of their belongings, including furniture and rugs. Taylor reflected on their initial reaction to the damage:
“In my ignorance around what it means to live in a home that had been through a fire, I walked through and thought, ‘Everything’s fine, we made it, it’s gonna be OK and we’ll be back within a month or something,’”
he said.
“But very quickly, we learned that all the soft goods—all the furniture, the rugs—that was all thrown away.”
Determined to move forward, Mandy and Taylor transformed their mid-century modern house into a Spanish colonial style residence. The redesign included remodeled bedrooms, a fresh kitchen, family room, and an updated backyard, all revealed during their “Mandy Moore wildfire home tour.”

“Your ability to get Gus to eat something he’d flat out refused with me or elicit Ozzie’s immediate laughter, your music curation for our boys- which is TOP NOTCH… I could go on and on.”
