The production, scheduled to begin soon in the UK, aims to use AI-generated backgrounds and digital adjustments to actors’ performances, marking a novel approach to film production.

In a UK casting notice shared by the creative team, it was revealed that artificial intelligence would be used to create location backgrounds and to make precise adjustments to actors’ performances, eliminating the need for costly reshoots. This approach grants producers the rights to
change, add to, take from, translate, reformat, or reprocess
actors’ work using
generative artificial intelligence (GAI) and/or machine learning technologies.
Despite this extensive use of AI for production enhancements, no AI-generated actors will appear, with every cast member being a real person.
Ryan Kavanaugh emphasized this distinction:
We were very cautious, sensitive, and overly protective of our actors to make sure we only use performance capture AI, which means that we will not have any AI-generated actors that do not exist,
he said.
AI is a tool we’re using to make the filmmaking process more efficient while maintaining all department heads’ jobs, all actor jobs, and hopefully helping to grow the industry in a positive way.
