Daniel Radcliffe has shared his reaction to the widely discussed Saturday Night Live sketch that reimagines the Harry Potter universe through a fresh lens. The segment, which featured a queer version of the Hogwarts series called Heated Rivalry, playfully depicted Harry Potter and Ron Weasley as a romantic couple, drawing significant attention for its unique approach.

In a conversation with Rolling Stone, Radcliffe explained that Finn Wolfhard, who performed in the sketch, had given him a heads-up before it aired. Radcliffe recalled,

“Weirdly, I had met Finn Wolfhard a few weeks before, randomly, and we chatted for a bit,”

and added,

“And then he texted me the day before it aired, being like, ‘Hey, just so you know, we’re doing a Harry Potter sketch.’”

Though Radcliffe admitted he had not watched Heated Rivalry and missed some jokes due to this, he described the sketch as “very funny and sweet” and mentioned,

“I’m always happy to see other versions of that. It makes me laugh.”

The former Harry Potter star acknowledged the buzz surrounding the parody, noting that his girlfriend is a devoted fan.
