On February 18, 2026, Keke Palmer opened up about how she navigates the challenges of maintaining a successful career while raising her young son. Known for her versatility across television, film, and podcasting, Palmer shared insights on managing her busy schedule in the face of potential Hollywood burnout.
Managing Multiple Roles to Stay Grounded
As a multihyphenate talent, Palmer remains deliberate about her commitments. She described to People how motherhood has reshaped her approach to work and time management.
“There actually are three of me,”
Palmer stated, underscoring the effort it takes to juggle her various responsibilities.
At 32 years old, she acknowledged the heavy demands on her schedule but emphasized her intentional decisions to protect her energy.
“I feel like after [having] my son, I’ve become even more intentional with what I choose to do. And how I choose to spare my time. I love everything that I do, but I think I’m always conscious to have a good team, to make sure that I can handle it all. And be able to organize it. Because it is a lot, but I do love it,”
she added.
New Projects Highlight Palmer’s Growing Influence
Palmer recently expanded her portfolio with the launch of her new show, The Burbs, on Peacock. This series is a fresh take on the 1989 film starring Tom Hanks, featuring Palmer in the lead role of Samira, a new mother moving into a strange neighborhood where unusual events unfold. This role resonates deeply with Palmer’s real-life experiences.
Reflecting on her character’s challenges, she noted,
“It was actually kind of cathartic, because, well, the things that Samira was going through,”
mentioning her character’s relationship struggles, postpartum feelings, and emotional vulnerability.
“[I] really related to a lot of that — and the horror behind it,”
Palmer expressed.
Motherhood as a Priority and Source of Strength
Despite her rising career demands, Palmer places motherhood above all else, especially in raising her 2-year-old son, Leodis, affectionately called Leo. Her experiences as a mother provide both inspiration and grounding for her professional life.
She reflected on watching Leo grow, saying,
“The process of seeing him grow from being a little baby that didn’t speak to having words, opinions, and a personality is incredible.”
She added,
“He’s teaching me, most importantly, how to relax and how to live. You know what I mean?”
Continuing to Thrive While Avoiding Burnout
As Keke Palmer takes on new ventures and solidifies her influence in Hollywood, she remains vigilant against burnout by carefully balancing her work with her personal life. Her ability to delegate to a trusted team, prioritize meaningful projects, and embrace motherhood helps her sustain her momentum in a demanding industry.
