Mickey Rourke Seen Walking Dogs After Eviction Drama

Mickey Rourke was seen walking three dogs in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, roughly two months after news broke about his eviction troubles. The Oscar-nominated actor, aged 73, was dressed casually in a gray sweatsuit as he took an early morning stroll in Southern California, reinforcing the focus on the recent Mickey Rourke eviction news.

Actor’s Appearance and Earlier Public Response to Associate’s Fundraiser

The “Wrestler” star wore an ash gray zip-up hoodie paired with sweatpants and white Adidas training shoes designed for martial arts mats. Clear-framed sunglasses rested atop his head while he carried a cup during the outing. Rourke had earlier dismissed a GoFundMe campaign organized by one of his business associates to help cover unpaid rent, insisting he was unaware of the fundraiser’s existence.

“That was some lady who worked for me did that s***,”

Rourke told reporters in Los Angeles last month.

“I, you know, I know nothing. I’m embarrassed about it and I’m really pissed off about it, and one thing about me. I’ll get even over it, all right, but it’s not the right time, I’m sure.”

Details of the Eviction Case and Rental Disputes

The eviction saga began late last year when Rourke’s landlord demanded he pay $59,100 in overdue rent or vacate the property immediately. On December 18, the actor received a three-day notice to pay or leave, backed by legal documents from landlord Eric T. Goldie. Rourke, whose full name is Philip Rourke Jr., had signed a lease beginning March 30 for a three-bedroom home in Southern California, agreeing to a monthly rent of $5,200.

Goldie filed a complaint with Los Angeles Superior Court at the end of December, alleging Rourke had not complied with the eviction order to settle unpaid rent or move out. The landlord also sought to recover legal fees and demanded that Rourke forfeit the remainder of the lease contract. Despite these pressures, Rourke remained defiant about the situation.

Actor Criticizes Condition of the Rental Property

When addressing the eviction controversy, Rourke described the property as being in poor condition. He claimed the house, which was built in the late 1920s, suffered from significant maintenance problems. He specifically mentioned broken plumbing, unheated rooms, malfunctioning air conditioners, and persistent rodent infestations.

“The kitchen sink didn’t run, there were two bathrooms, one bathroom had no water, there was no heat, the air conditioners don’t work, and they had rats and mice,”

Rourke explained.

“The house was built in the late twenties, and so the floor was all rotten, like under the sink, so the mice and rats will come up – and it’s like, I don’t want to live like this, you know.”

Rourke’s Connection to Hollywood and Tribute to Eric Dane

Beyond his eviction troubles, Rourke has recently been mourning the passing of actor Eric Dane, who died at age 53 after battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Rourke paid tribute to Dane last November via Instagram, calling him a “friend,” “talented,” and “very special,” particularly praising his work portraying a man with ALS on the show Brilliant Minds.

“All we can do for Eric is pray hard and hope he’s [not] suffering,”

Rourke said earlier this month, before deleting the post.

“There is nothing [doctors] can do really just pray … that’s all any of us who love this man [can do] … all my love and prayers, my brother.”

Impact of the Eviction and What’s Ahead

Mickey Rourke’s current living and legal challenges underscore the difficulties some Hollywood stars face behind the scenes. The legal battle with landlord Eric T. Goldie casts a spotlight on the complexities artists encounter with tenancy and financial pressures. Considering Rourke’s stance on the property’s poor condition, the dispute may continue to unfold in court.

Meanwhile, Rourke’s ongoing grief over Eric Dane’s passing reflects a personal and emotional chapter amid the turmoil. Fans and observers alike will likely watch both his housing situation and public tributes closely as developments unfold in the City of Angels.
