Dave Franco’s Awkward Teenage Crush Revealed at Premiere

At the premiere of the animated film Hoppers, Dave Franco shared candid memories from his youth, revealing details of his shy and awkward nature as a teenager. The Hollywood actor, now 40 and married to Alison Brie, described himself during those years with honesty and a touch of embarrassment, offering insight into his early personality.

Embarrassing Teenage Crush Story

When asked by Entertainment Tonight to sum up his teenage self in three words, Franco responded,

“Oh, It was a long time ago… I was shy, awkward and anxious.”

He then recounted a memorable incident that illustrated these traits clearly. Instead of approaching a girl he liked directly, he purchased a bag of candy, spotted her sitting with friends under a tree, threw the candy toward her, and then quickly ran away to avoid any confrontation.

He explained this unusual approach by saying,

“I had a crush on this girl. Instead of going to talk to her, I bought her a bag of candy, I saw her sitting under this tree with all her friends, and I took a running start and I threw the bag of candy and then I kept sprinting away.”

“I got a good plus one… I came out of my shell a little bit.”
