Alfredo Molina was born on 24 May 1953 in the Paddington district of London, England. He grew up in a working-class neighborhood in Notting Hill that was home to many immigrant families. His father, Esteban Molina, was a Spanish immigrant from Murcia and a former waiter who had parachuted into France with the Special Operations Executive before D-Day. His mother, Giovanna Bonelli, was an Italian immigrant who worked as a cleaner.
