Jordan Anderson Bio
Jordan Lee Anderson (born April 15, 1991) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He competes part-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, driving the No. 32 Chevrolet Camaro SS for his own team, Jordan Anderson Racing. Standing 188 cm tall and competing at 79 kg, Anderson has built a reputation as a hard-working independent team owner-driver in the NASCAR national series.
Early Life and Background
Jordan Lee Anderson was born on April 15, 1991, in Forest Acres, South Carolina. He grew up in the Columbia, South Carolina area, where his interest in motorsports began at a young age. Anderson began racing go-karts when he was eight years old, and his passion for the sport grew quickly as he progressed through the grassroots levels of American stock car racing.
As his career developed, Anderson moved from karts into Legends Cars and Late Model racing, building the foundation that would later support his climb into the NASCAR ranks. He attended Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina, where he graduated with a degree in business and marketing. His college education later proved useful in managing the sponsorship and operational challenges of running his own team.
Path to NASCAR
Anderson’s path to NASCAR’s national series began in regional touring divisions. In 2013, he made one start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, two appearances in the CARS X-1R Pro Cup Series, and continued running various Late Model events. In April 2014, he attempted to run the full K&N Pro Series East schedule with Richmond, but his car owner began writing bad checks, forcing the team to close. Anderson personally sold one of his own Super Late Models to pay off the debt and protect his name in the garage.
Later in 2014, Anderson made his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Phoenix with MAKE Motorsports, followed by a final-race appearance for Mike Harmon Racing at Homestead-Miami. In 2015, he used his own savings to purchase a truck and ran nearly the full Truck Series schedule for Mike Harmon Racing, posting a best finish of 13th at Michigan and ending the year 19th in the final driver standings. That same year, he made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Bristol in the night race for Harmon.
Jordan Anderson Career
Early Career (2014–2015)
Anderson’s first two national-series seasons were a crash course in perseverance. Debuting in the Truck Series at Phoenix in 2014 with MAKE Motorsports, he then closed the year with Mike Harmon Racing at Homestead-Miami. For 2015, he bought his own truck using personal savings to make the field at Daytona but failed to qualify, though he ran most of the schedule afterward and earned a best result of 13th at Michigan while learning the rhythm of a full season.
NASCAR Truck Series Breakthrough (2016–2017)
In 2016, Anderson joined Bolen Motorsports for the full Truck Series schedule, driving the No. 66 Silverado with sponsorship from Columbia, SC – Famously Hot. After locking in the final qualifying spot at Daytona, he posted eight top-20 finishes and narrowly missed the top 20 in the final championship standings by a single point. He also ran five Xfinity races that season.
Anderson’s 2017 season became one of the most talked-about underdog stories in the garage. After crashing at Atlanta early in the year and losing his truck, he launched a website called SponsorJordan.com, asking fans to fund a new truck. Hundreds of fans responded, and with additional support from former driver Kenny Wallace, he pieced together a part-time schedule with RSS Racing and TJL Motorsports, finishing inside the top 20 in Truck Series points for a third straight year.
Jordan Anderson Racing Era (2018–Present)
On January 31, 2018, Anderson announced the formation of his own team, Jordan Anderson Racing, and committed to running the full NASCAR Truck Series schedule in the No. 3, a number he chose in connection with legendary owner Junior Johnson. JAR acquired trucks from Niece Motorsports and Brad Keselowski Racing, and Anderson averaged a 19.7-place finish through the first half of the season while running a Chevrolet.
Anderson expanded the program in 2021 by moving to a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule while continuing part-time in the Truck Series. He also began fielding cars for other drivers, including a No. 31 that hosted Cup Series regulars such as Tyler Reddick, Erik Jones, and Austin Dillon to build owner points. In 2022, he signed Myatt Snider to drive the No. 31 full-time, and at Talladega in October 2022, Anderson survived a fiery crash in the Truck Series playoff race that left him with second-degree burns.
The team’s biggest milestone came on April 22, 2023, at Talladega, when Jeb Burton scored Jordan Anderson Racing’s first NASCAR national-series victory in the Xfinity Series race. In 2024, Anderson returned to driving in three Xfinity events at Daytona, Atlanta, and Talladega in his No. 32 car. In 2025, he is scheduled to drive the No. 32 at the Xfinity Series season-opener at Daytona and has also returned to the Truck Series at Indianapolis Raceway Park in the Young’s Motorsports No. 20 truck.
Driving Style and Strengths
Anderson is known for his resourcefulness and his strong performances on restrictor-plate and superspeedway-style tracks, where he has repeatedly challenged for wins. His hands-on, grassroots approach to team ownership has earned him respect throughout the garage, and his late-race instincts at Daytona and Talladega have produced several career-best results, including a runner-up finish in the 2020 Truck Series opener at Daytona.
Notable Races and Milestones
Anderson’s signature moment came in the 2020 Truck Series race at Daytona, where he passed Grant Enfinger exiting turn four on the final lap before being hit at the line and finishing a career-best second. The Talladega win by Jeb Burton in 2023 marked the first NASCAR national-series victory for Jordan Anderson Racing, and Anderson’s own survival of the fiery Talladega crash in 2022 became a defining moment of perseverance for both the driver and the team.
Jordan Anderson Career Wins
As a driver, Jordan Anderson has not recorded a victory in any of NASCAR’s three national series, but he has built a respected program that has produced wins for other drivers. His team, Jordan Anderson Racing, scored its first national-series victory through Jeb Burton at Talladega in April 2023, marking a major milestone for the independent operation.
NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Highlights
Anderson has not yet posted a win as a driver in the Xfinity Series, now branded as the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, but he has been a steady plate-track presence with strong qualifying efforts at Daytona and Talladega. His best on-track result came in the 2020 Truck Series season-opener at Daytona, where he finished second.
Jordan Anderson Family
Family Background and Racing Lineage
Anderson married Kendall McReynolds in April 2022. Kendall is the daughter of Larry McReynolds, a former championship-winning NASCAR crew chief and long-time NASCAR on Fox analyst. The McReynolds family’s deep roots in the sport have given Anderson additional perspective and mentorship in crew-chief and team-management circles, and Larry McReynolds even came out of retirement to serve as Anderson’s crew chief for the 2023 summer Daytona Xfinity race.
Personal Life
Anderson and his wife Kendall live a largely travel-based life tied to the NASCAR schedule. He graduated from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina, with a degree in business and marketing, which he has applied directly to running his own multi-car operation. Anderson has been widely described as one of the hardest-working drivers in the garage, thanks to his hands-on, grassroots approach to building sponsorships and keeping his team on the track.
2025 Season Performance
Jordan Anderson is competing part-time in 2025 across both the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He is scheduled to drive his familiar No. 32 Chevrolet Camaro SS in the Xfinity Series season-opener at Daytona, one of his strongest tracks, where he has finished second in a national-series event before.
For the Truck Series, Anderson has returned to the grid for the first time since 2022, teaming with Young’s Motorsports to drive the No. 20 truck at Indianapolis Raceway Park. The Indianapolis weekend gives him a chance to rebuild momentum in the series while continuing to develop Jordan Anderson Racing as a multi-team operation in the Xfinity Series.
With the team now established as a winner through Jeb Burton’s 2023 Talladega victory, Anderson’s 2025 focus is on logging quality starts, building owner points, and continuing to grow the program. His plate-track speed and family ties to the sport through Larry McReynolds give the team a stable foundation heading into the rest of the season.
