Zoë Yadira Saldaña-Perego, known professionally as Zoe Saldana, is an American actress born on June 19, 1978, in Passaic, New Jersey. A trained dancer who began acting in 1999, she rose to international fame through major science fiction franchises and is recognized as the highest-grossing actress in film history. Saldana has described herself as three-quarters Dominican and one-quarter Puerto Rican.
