Justin Garza Bio
Justin Charles Garza, born on March 20, 1994, is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, and New York Mets, making his MLB debut in 2021. A former draft pick of the Cleveland Indians, Garza has spent parts of his professional career moving between the major league rosters and Triple-A affiliates before becoming a free agent.
Over the course of his career, Justin Charles Garza has appeared in the majors with three organizations and has contributed out of the bullpen at both the Triple-A and MLB levels. After most recently being designated for assignment by the New York Mets in September 2025, he elected free agency and became available to sign with any club.

Justin Charles Garza grew up in Ontario, California, and attended Bonita High School, where he developed into a highly regarded pitching prospect. After his junior year at Cal State Fullerton, Justin Charles Garza was again selected by the Cleveland Indians, this time in the eighth round of the 2015 MLB draft. Following surgery, he spent the remainder of 2015 and much of 2016 rehabilitating before being assigned to the Arizona League Indians late in the 2016 season. In 2017, he pitched for the Single-A Lake County Captains, posting a 4–6 record and a 5.83 ERA across 26 appearances.
In 2018, Justin Charles Garza split time between the Low-A Mahoning Valley Scrappers and the High-A Lynchburg Hillcats of the Carolina League, going 5–6 with a 3.36 ERA in 18 combined games. Cleveland Indians / Guardians Era (2015–2022)
Justin Charles Garza began the 2021 season with the Akron RubberDucks of the Double-A Northeast before a quick promotion to the Triple-A Columbus Clippers. In 12 appearances for Columbus, he posted a 0.44 ERA with 28 strikeouts, prompting Cleveland to select his contract on June 24, 2021. He made his MLB debut on June 27, 2021, pitching 2⅔ innings of one-run relief with three strikeouts against the Minnesota Twins in an 8–2 loss. On July 31, 2021, he earned his first career win after pitching two scoreless innings in a 12–11 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
Following the 2021 season, the Indians rebranded as the Guardians and designated Justin Charles Garza for assignment on November 19, 2021.
