Lukas Michael MacNaughton (born March 8, 1995) is a professional soccer player who plays as a defender. Born in the United States and raised in Belgium, he represents the Canada national team. He currently plays in Major League Soccer for D.C. United.

His father is Canadian, born in Montreal, Canada, while his mother is Austrian and was born in Beirut, Lebanon. When he was seven years old, MacNaughton moved with his family to Brussels, Belgium, where he spent most of his childhood. In Belgium, he began playing youth soccer with Royale Union Rixensartoise, joining the club at the under-8 level and continuing there until he was sixteen. Path to Professional Soccer
MacNaughton’s transition toward a serious soccer career took shape during his time at the University of Toronto, where he also played for the Toronto Varsity Blues men’s soccer team from 2013 to 2017. He served as team captain beginning in his second year and scored his first collegiate goal on September 3, 2014, against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. MacNaughton’s playing career began at the semi-professional level with the North Toronto Nitros of League1 Ontario in 2016. Across two seasons with the club, he made nine appearances and scored four goals, demonstrating an early knack for contributing offensively from defensive positions. The Nitros provided him with a competitive environment to test his skills while he continued his studies at the University of Toronto.
In 2018, MacNaughton moved to Alliance United FC, also in League1 Ontario, where he made eight appearances.
